My most used app when studying Japanese. I also use it for quick reference during conversations. I like the coding and layout . Sometimes the various definitions can be confusing to know which is the right word to use but that is also the nature of learning Japanese. I also like the kanji tool. It is the easiest one I have found.

In the short time I've been using it, this dictionary blows all the others I've tried out of the water. It's quick where others (like 'Japanese') are bloated. It accepts romaji, English, and radical input. You can save favorite words, create lists, and export those words to Anki as flashcards. There are also some crowd-sourced components, such as grammar examples and community lists, the latter requiring a sub but that's literally the only part. Well worth a look for learners of Japanese!

I absolutely love it, can't imagine my life without this app anymore. When I watch anime, I have it open to check the words I hear. When I'm in Japan and trying to communicate, I can quickly pull it up to look up a word. The kanji breakdown and the verb forms are super useful and give a valuable insight that helps me the words. All the features are thoughtfully designed and the app works without any issues. Reliable and valuable tool, highly recommend it!

Absolutely fantastic. Human voice for most words, marks pitch accent, looks like Japanese definitions just came, you can save words to a list and turn them into flashcards automatically, the app is constantly being updated, and I'm sure I could think of more if I tried. In fact: the app runs great, and keeps the UI beautifully simple. Best 辞書 app I've had.

Edit: I didn't know. I learned something today, thanks! (Old review:) The pitch accent feature is incomplete. In the search results, there are pitch accent marks for "falling tone" and "steady tone" but not "rising tone". This could be fixed by adding a "r" shaped bracket above the syllable after the rise, or a "J" shaped one under the syllable before the rise. Great app.

I historically will not rate anything 5 stars. 4 stars indicates a very good experience. To earn a 5 star rating from me, the service must be exemplary, after all, it's a "perfect" rating, not just really good; that's what 4 stars is for. This app's ease of use and wide functionality learning about vocabulary, kanji, and origin is nothing short of amazing.

Very nice to use. It's offline, so results are quick and the entries are informative. My only gripe is not being able to filter results by tag (i.e. show only common words) or turn off furigana, which is shown in the 漢字(かな)format. Once these are fixed (or if they exist and I'm just not aware of them) I definitely think this deserves the extra star.

As an offline Japanese/English dictionary, this app far sures expectations. It has options to favorite words, create study lists, and (my favorite) look up kanji by radicals. It's more than I expected when I ed it, and it's now competing for most used app on my phone. No ads, easy interface that lets you look up words by radical, kanji, romanized Japanese, or English. I love it!
