Solid Explorer is a file management app inspired by the old school file commander applications. It will help you:

Explore your device
Solid Explorer lets you navigate to files stored on your device and automatically organizes them into collections. You can view, delete, move, rename or share any files. It also allows you to quickly find the files you need through indexed search with filters.


Keep your files safe
Solid Explorer can protect selected files with strong AES encryption and put them in a secure folder, which contents are unreadable for other apps. The file manager will ask for or fingerprint confirmation when you browse the folder. Even if you uninstall Solid Explorer, the files stay on your device and are still protected.


Analyze Storage
Although this file manager doesn’t feature a dedicated storage analyzer, you can find out which files take up most of space by going to folder properties of internal storage or SD card. Great app. The interface is very clear. Unfortunately the lan/smb feature doesn't work anymore to connect to a windows 11 pc. Other apps still succeed. I don't know if this is related to an update. Hoping this could be corrected. Bug fixed in 2.8.41. Thanks One more time, SMB / LAN, is broken with 2.8.42 version... Please correct this bug.

The best over the market. So many options!! Can even use fingerprints when accessible to secured network needing authentication! Updating my review (2019-Aug-28): It's the best one for the price ! full of features, Experience for managing file is crazy with the two pages view. different types of connectivity to server, very simple to use and powerful at the same time ! Worth every cents paid ! Bravo to the developers and product managers ;)

Solid Explorer has been solid for me for years. I personally didn't run into issues until this last update (Oct 2024). Now roughly twice a week I run into issues. Sometimes it won't display images in SE viewer. Sometimes the app won't open at all; it just shows a dark screen with a large app icon in the center. Force Stop and clearing cache doesn't help. I have to restart my device to get it working again. I'm hoping a future update will fix it, but I'm looking for a replacement anyway.

I have tried most file explorers for Android, and nothing comes close to Solid Explorer. It combines a -friendly interface with powerful features that make managing files incredibly easy. I've paid for this app. Being trying to reach developer at the email provided, without success. The app keeps telling me to "Remove ads". I've done EVERYTHING suggested and NOTHING worked. So, as I've stated directly to Google Play Store: you allow people to sell products in your store that either doesn't work, is discontinued, doesn't offer and it does provide an email for ing, NEVER ANSWER. Therefore I have filled a complaint to get rid of your apps from the GPS. Thieves.

Look for something better, Solid has seen better days. The app keeps trying to render thumbnails of files on a SMB share despite the network thumbnails settings being off. It locks the app AND the file, and the dev doesn't address it for YEARS. And now my license (and only this license) decided to expire itself (you need to clear all Google Play Store data to fix this). It's rapidly approaching a clownfest.

It is becoming very irritating that, suddenly, I am told that I have 2 weeks for free to "use all its features" when I have purchased not one but two full versions. Apparently, the only solution is to uninstall, then reinstall, the app! Please tell me there is an easier way!

TLDR: It's a good app with useful features (when they work). However, lately it does an abysmal job recognizing the upgrade for . FULL REVIEW: I've been using the app since 2015. THE GOOD; it's got an easy-to-use layout, an ok amount of tools, and nice theme customization. THE BAD; it forgets purchased upgrade, and the troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue. The FTP access is very useful but it struggles with connecting consistently or at all. I WOULD recommend this to a friend 👍
